Unfortunately I've reached Perceval in both Chrétien (The Story of the Grail, or Perceval) and Robert de Boron, and I hate it. Again, I'm sure there is plenty that's interesting in a 12th century French story about King Arthur conquering Rome or a mysterious allegory about a completely ignorant and naive young knight who knows nothing about the world, but I'm finding them both very irritating to read. I've gotten a lot more Murderbot and Mapp & Lucia read as a result, but I don't want these to just hang around forever, so I am making an effort to get through.

Back on the blood glucose see-saw
2 Apr 2024 10:30 pmSnookums has been more sensitive to insulin the last few months, so he's often had to have a reduced dose to prevent low blood sugar, which is very dangerous. Even so, it's often gone low enough that his blood sugar rebounds and yo-yos extra high the next twelve hours (the Somogyi effect). These quick reversals make him sick and prevent my taking a blood curve, a chart made from six blood glucose measurements over twelve hours and usually the foundational information the vet needs. He's been vomiting or having diarrhea more often the last couple of weeks, but I've been unable to do a curve on the weekends due to Somogyi rebound! But it's getting increasingly worrying and he seems to have possibly lost some weight, so we decided I'll try to get an appointment for him next week.
