uh, yesterday i cut off most of my hair.

before:

after:

i may cut the rest off on a whim in the near future; i haven't had my hair like this in a long time and it looks weird to me, but [livejournal.com profile] wax_jism insists it doesn't.

I know D&D friends who have elf ears. God knows where they got them. Costume shops? ... Internets?

there must be somewhere on the internets. however, i'd feel really silly if i paid international shipping for them. ...costume shops it is!

Ears: €6
Shipping: €38
Having Vulcan Ears: NOT WORTH €38 SHIPPING

Understandable. XD

There's a big Tolkien community in Finland that you don't know about. I used to belong to it. They have a paper and everything. But their ears are clunky and fugly, so I think you may be out of luck there, unless they've changed sekrit underground sources.

More importantly, that haircut is awesomely cute. ♥

ohh, maybe i can get a copy of some of their papers. my dad's best friend from college collects tolkien zines from around the world. actually he may have them already, but he might like some more issues. they'd probably have some at that finnish sf convention, ne?

Yeah, they probably do. I think I've thrown mine away for space, otherwise you could've had them. Well, Sugar was a member too and since she's even more packratty than I am, she might have some old issues too. Maybe you should ask her before she comes back in case she has some in Somero.

Speaking of the con! Are you going? Are we going? I'm completely confused about this and I was thinking I'd like to go for the ambience though it didn't seem all that interesting this year.

I don't think I should be flailing about the ne? but it's somehow terribly funny.

klasjökl yeah. i've been watching tons of anime and chatting with my friend [livejournal.com profile] aeslis who is involved exclusively in japanese fandoms and who, unlike me, actually really does speak japanese... and i've always lamented english's lack of a 'ne'. i could start using 'eh' i guess.

but! i think we should go to the con. it would be fun. wax's college friend sofia kinda halfway offered to take me but i don't know her that well and still feel awkward. but if you guys don't want to go, i will probably ask her about it. i think wax will probably be working and unable to come.

and hey, that's an excuse to make the star trek uniform i've wanted to make for years.

I also love how I randomly misspell 'Spock'. FAIL.

To my utter delight, my dad had a Star Trek novel lying about somewhere. 'The Starship Trap', or something? I keep squeeing in delight at inopportune moments...

i've never read a tos novel, just some of peter david's tng ones. he's kinda pulpy and cheesy but he can be brilliantly funny. and he does excellent q.

It was really quite good! I liked the way the person wrote Spock, dry and a hidden sense of humour and Kirk noticing all these little things about it. Plus fantastic McCoy-Spock interaction.

You would make such a great Vulcan... I'm thinking all T'Pring-ish, all haughtiness and ice cold pretty and liquid eyeliner and stern-faced and ♥.

And piled atop her head. And so much silver eyeshadow!

Now you have to be a Vulcan. And post pictures.
