today the Philosopher got sidetracked from explaining popper's demarkationskriterium (the criterion of demarcation?) into explaining the theory of relativity, complete with chalk diagrams, for at least twenty minutes. the theory of relativity. seriously, man, shut the fuck up. and i was reduced once again to a quivering puddle of rage.

eta: on the plus side i was mysteriously 12 minutes early and wrote a paragraph and a half of aiba/jun porn.

nino: just because you get lost going from the closet to the bed doesn't mean i need to ask for directions, i can see it on the map.

omg ♥ ohno. now i can't help wondering how nino reacted on that particular occasion. assuming he is waiting in the bed, he might be impatient, depending how distracted and/or astonished he is by ohno's seemingly endless capacity for cluelessness.

he maybe is reading a magazine, you know--sitting on top of the covers, knees up, and he doesn't notice for a moment that ohno has gone into the closet and not come back out--"ohchan, they have something in here about that artist that you like--" and then ohno appears, a slightly shell-shocked expression on his face--"ah, ohchan, did you get lost in the closet?" and nino's sort of astonished and amused all at once, because usually even ohno isn't this bad. ("where did that coat go, the red one with the zipper and the lined pockets?" "it's in the hall with the other coats." "oh.")

it's amazing the number of people in the world who can't grasp the concept of looking for a coat where all the other coats are kept. wax gets confused by the need to look for her socks in her own sock drawer, for instance. my mom used to accuse my dad of "hiding" books in the bookshelves, or food in the pantry. (she'd call him at work in the middle of the day: "where did you hide the flour?" "the flour?" "it's not where it goes!" "the all-purpose flour?" "yes!" "did you look in the cabinet with the wheat flour, the sugar, and the rice, where we've been keeping it for the past few years?" "you mean that one by the sink?" "yes. that one." "there it is! why did you put it THERE?")

man, ohno totally would. and then nino would be like, "the closet only has one door, and it's not that big" - maybe not immediately. eventually. and ohno would be like "aaaah, yeah."

similarly, while nino will sometimes come home super-late from hanging out with his friends (he usually remembers to call or text, because he knows ohno is crazy about text messaging--did you know that ohno, the real ohno, does in fact e-mail his mother about what he's having for dinner that night on the way home? god, getting ohno to move out of his house must have been a chore, really.), it's far more common for nino to be getting ready for bed and find that ohno has just started working on a clay piece, possibly with several energy drinks strewn around him. "coming to bed, ohchan?" and ohno will be like, "in just a little bit--"

but ohno still gets more sleep with nino than he ever did without, because what's better than going to bed with nino? seriously. not even painting wins that battle, it's fifty-fifty.

hahahaha. i think i read somewhere about ohno texting his mother about dinner. or it was on one of those interview clips. -

and now i'm imagining ohno's serious attempts to decide between the siren song of the half-finished project and the siren song of nino all alone and warm and cosy and cuddly in the bed, and if he goes back nino will warm up his hands and feet, and curl around ohno and sometimes he'll even do that without waking up, and maybe he'll wake up and mutter sleepily "what time is it" or "what are you doing?", which is just utterly irresistable.

but on the other hand, it's kind of silly to go to bed when you're still awake just because nino's there - it's not like they're awake and conscious of the time they're sleeping together, so it doesn't really make sense, this pull he feels to sleep together, to not leave nino alone. he does want to - but isn't it better if he finishes the painting now! he's already got paint on his hands anyway and then if it's done, he can concentrate on nino later, when nino's awake, so it's like a more intelligent use of his time - except that he does have to sleep some time...

"he does have to sleep some time." omg. that's it exactly. XD i imagine ohno is like myself in that he would rather not sleep if he didn't have to. sometimes he can be really good about sleeping! when he's a play he's totally good about taking care of himself, sleeping and eating right--but most of the time he's haphazard and causes his mother to worry about him, i bet. XD

(omg, "why is sleeping together important?" maybe because nino gets lonely! nino wakes up in the middle of the night and misses him! but says it in such a way that it's clear that ohno is in the wrong for not being in bed when nino woke up.)

ahahha. from nino's point of view it is his fault! in his opinion, ohno is supposed to be in the bed in the middle of the night, particularly if nino is there and wants him. he's very spoiled, but ohno doesn't really mind nino feeling entitled to him - he kind of likes it.

nino teaches him to appreciate sleep eventually though, or at least to appreciate falling asleep and waking up. before nino his tendency to put off sleep until he fell over exhausted (because there were just so many things to do!) led to amusing circumstances where he was getting sleepy at odd times, because he just had been busy! and not gotten around to sleeping lately! but after he has sampled what it is like to fall asleep or wake up lazily together, ohno realises how much he likes it, and can sometimes even be brought to choose it over art projects. depending on how adorable nino is being and how tired ohno is and also how urgent the art project was.
