cimorene: painting of a glowering woman pouring a thin stream of glowing green liquid from an enormous bowl (misanthropy)

[livejournal.com profile] shiroi_chi, [livejournal.com profile] anglepoiselamp, were we talking about going to the mucha exhibit a week from this coming sunday, once sugar is back in town? is that the deal? wax fell before my convincing argument about sundays and her response to the whole plan is "yeah, okay", assuming everyone else is still good with it. also, sugar, here are your pictures: 1 2 3 4.

i've been thinking on and off about chopping all my hair off.  it will never behave the way it should - that is, curling the way i want it to and the way it does in a better climate - as long as i live here. instead, when it is long, it is unmanageable - unpredictably wavy, overly dry, and prone to static. even going to pains to moisturise it just makes it kind of limp.

so, i'd probably've done that already today, except i'm... rereading the final arc of hikaru no go instead, and making icons. i desperately need want some sai icons for moi, yet i'm making hikaru icons instead, mostly. well, and akira. that's because almost every image of akira is beautiful, so i end up with a preponderance of him. in my head, hikaru is played by nino of the japanese boyband arashi. ([livejournal.com profile] aeslis, who actually follows this boyband - i don't - has been feeding me video clips and picspam and trivia for a couple of months and i have gradually and unwittingly become a tinhat about shipper of ohno/nino.) i can't really be satisfied with manga or anime until i have a pretty firm mental image of the important characters as actual human beings. if, as in the case of hikaru, they don't really look very much like human beings in the artwork, it bugs me more and i have to think harder about it.

eta: here is the manga page with akira in jeans.

Yeah, I'm totally in for seeing the exhibit on Sunday-a-week-from-now. Hmmm, I hope they have shiny shiny shiny Mucha merchandise for sale there. My old Mucha miniposters are getting a bit ragged.

And, yay, thanks for the pics!

I've never thought Ohno was cute, but I like Ninomiya. He actually used to be my favorite of them, but that's Matsumoto Jun now.

do you realize how cutely excited aeslis gets when she talks about feeding you these clips? XD it's--it's very very cute, let's put it that way.

it would be highly intriguing to see hikaru played by nino; plausible, even, if he could stand up a little straighter. XD whom would you cast as akira?

hahahaha. well, her excitement is pretty fun from my end too. but no, i didn't realise that. XD

i haven't thought that hard about it because akira already looks more like a real person. and i've never actually seen a japanese man with his hair at all similar to akira's, so it's hard to picture exactly, but it's much easier to imagine that he's been drawn more or less from life. i mean, without the hair lots of people would look like him, i'm sure.
