have i ever mentioned how badly i want this swedish folkart grandfather clock? badly enough that several times i've started considering how i could make it, like by mounting a clock at the top of a bookshelf - "first you'd need a jigsaw... oh, right, i don't know how to use one... maybe foam-core board...?" i'm just saying, i don't think the universe is very fair: give me a jigsaw! and why didn't my mother teach me to use one, anyway? (omg, how can it be that i don't already have a tag for interior design?)

also, it's raining. like a lot.

That clock is lovely.

I learned to use a jigsaw (sort of) in wood shop at school, which was mandatory for everyone. EVERYONE had sewing *and* cooking *and* metal shop *and* wood shop, which is awesome in retrospect. But that clock would be just a tad beyond sixth-grade skillz. Just a hair.

i got to skip woodshop in 6th grade because i was in band. my mom has an (electric) jigsaw though. i think mainly you just need practise. although i imagine that a pro would use a tablesaw for something that gigantic.

That is one awesome clock. I love the clocks with the rounded bodies.

i knooooow. don't you just want to make indecent sexual metaphors when wooden things are all curvy like that? or maybe that's just me.
