anne hathaway is going to be playing jane austen, which is... just ridiculous. i like anne hathaway, and i think she's hot, so i'll be perfectly happy to see it, but... she's american. it's not like this is just some film about england where a few of the leads are being played by americans; it's actually a biopic about one of the most famous british writers. at least she kind of looks like jane.

I guess this is not the best analogy since the two movies are totally different in themes but I think Emma Thompson should have gotten the role since Anne Hathaway is to Emma Thompson what Halle Berry is to Angela Basset for Storm in the X-Men movies.

your point is taken! i think she was too old for the role. it's specifically about young jane. they considered kate winslet and keira knightley.
