No, he's my hero! srsly, I didn't know he was making this movie, now I *heart* him a lot. He's not being a bitch . . . well maybe a teensy bit . . . mostly he's just being a BNF, which he *is*. I don't know if I have the guts to see the movies, but maybe I'll read the book(s).

well, he may be a BNF, but i'm pretty sure "if they don't like it they can see borat 2 or whatever" falls in the realm of bitchiness. in a really funny way! but still, bitchiness. all directors probably think unflattering things about the plebeyness of the general populace and probably of other people's films (or whatever), but not all are so fearlessly and openly bitchy about it. he's edging perilously close to you're-interrogating-the-text-from-the-wrong-perspective territory!

the tv inspectors are the dudes who come around and make you pay your tv license. every finnish household that owns a tv has to pay a fairly hefty yearly fee for it and that finances public television.
