this fandom is really, um, strong in the crack aus.

• the one where bodie and doyle are dogs. it starts with them having a conversation and the fact that they're dogs is the surprise ending.


• the one where ray quits art school to run a b&b and a farm and bodie is a gay baronet raised in france who goes there for vacation.


• the one where bodie is beauty (but he's evil) and ray is the beast who teaches him to be a nauseatingly good person.


• the one where doyle is a medieval fisherman and bodie is a selkie.


• the one where doyle is the little mermaid and bodie is the dude he falls in love with except he's not a prince, he's a merchant captain, and he teaches doyle to talk and walk and eat and wipe his arse. and they fight crime.

I loled, though I suppose I can't really talk, seeing as how I have an idea for a fic where Viggo and Orli are furries and meet on an artboard. Viggo is an artist and Orli is a fan of his yiff porn. ;_;

i saw one person refer to the trend, in her author's notes (dated from the early 80s), as "hysterical historicals". which um. hahahah. WIN. although some of them aren't exactly historical...

and you know, furries is one thing, but animals or inanimate objects are another. and i've read both of those. (there was one where they were teddy bears in santa's workshop.)

The animal thing really baffles me. SGA seems obsessed with it and I just don't get it. Plus it just seems the height of cutesy and I hate cutesy.
