It's creepy to go seek out a popstar's parents in their place of work and take pictures of them to post on the internet, Y/N?

I kind of want to comment and smack her, because communities should be self-policing, right? But on the other hand, that's kind of pompous, and I don't think I want to be that guy, especially in one of these communities filled with squeeing, barely-English-speaking teenies.

I think you should still do it, though I can understand your concerns. I already saw this picture somewhere else a few weeks ago and while I could understand posting such a picture on your own journal, it sort of worries me that she is apparently spreading it. She probably isn't even aware of the fact that she is breaching the lady's privacy here and that, while the son might have chosen to be a figure of public interest, the mother hasn't. Maybe she (the taker of the picture, I mean) might actually be understanding, if someone pointed this out to her.

...Uhm, and now you're probably wondering who the hell this random person is who you don't know at all, but who wandered into your journal and decided to leave a comment, right?

So, introduction: I originally came to your LJ via [livejournal.com profile] bookshop, back when she still had the layout with those cool buttons on the top that changed when you hovered over them with your mouse. (As you can probably deduce by that, I'm quite easily persuaded by things like that.) I stayed (so to speak - meaning I started to randomly take a look at your journal whenever the mood struck me) because the first thing on your page was an Ohmiya picture. Then I stayed because you had a post about English language and how to use it properly. I don't know whether you had the same experiences learning Swedish, but I, as a non-native speaker, have a lot of problems finding sources to learn more about the finer points of English. There are a lot of things about grammar, for example, that you simply don't learn in school, so I'm always pleased to read posts like the ones you made. (The "thing" - "think" one you had a few posts back, for example? I didn't know about that one and because so many native speakers do it wrong, I never thought to check my Fowler's Modern English Usuage for that one - even though it's in there!)
After some time I found myself interested in all the posts you had, even the ones about fandoms I'd never heard of (At first I thought "The Professionals" had something to do with "The Persuaders"...^^") and the ones about real life in Finland.

So... to come to the point: I'm really interested in your posts, so would you allow me to friend you and occasionally comment on some posts? If you'd rather not have a complete stranger friend you, though, it's fine. Just tell me!

Although you don't need to ask permission to friend me, the introduction is appreciated! Feel free. Now, should we converse, I can feel secure in my knowledge of who you are.
