all bouncy and nowhere to go
13 Apr 2007 08:43 pmAt work wax was warned that 25% of the Nokia employees seem to have come down with the stomach flu. It looks like we both may have it. Well, that sucks. What sucks even more is that due to abdominal pain I just had to skip a John Simm Appreciation Day which I've been looking forward to for weeks.
I'm feeling a bit flat, between fandoms right now. I'm actually reading Panic! At The Disco and bits of Fall Out Boy, but I'm neither participating nor harbouring particular intentions of writing. I suppose it's my seasonal affectiveness, but my emotional and physical energy reserves seem to be tied pretty directly to how much sunshine I have the opportunity to absorb (at least, in cases excluding abdominal pain), so now that the sunset has been bumped back to 9 pm or so I have been bouncy, and have hungered for some more fannishness, fannish community, fandom and not just a source material or a pile of stories to read (which is what I want when I feel anti-social). I just don't really know where to go.
It's sort of like the meta equivalent of this lace dress my mom bought for me which I've only ever gotten to wear in public twice, at a church New Year's party in my parents' house and at
hollsh's wedding. I love it passionately and wish to wear it, and every now and then I try it on, but mostly it's going to waste in my closet. (Although then the metaphor falls down because I imagine I'll make up my mind about what to do, fandomwise, in the next couple of weeks. But if
wax_jism is going to write bandslash I might stay there, even though I prefer media fandom, because - it makes such a nice difference to share a fandom; we were geeking out over Patrick Stump and Brendon Urie [separately!] and maintaining this really stupid joke where I call her RyanRoss, which is a comparison that was invented by my sister, and it was maybe the most fun we've had in a restaurant since the time when we were both all Sheppard/McKay, all the time, and were drawing gigantic air hearts about that.)

Date: 13 Apr 2007 06:27 pm (UTC)Awww, hun, I know what you mean about the fandom thing. What sucks even more is inventing one and being so into it, and only you and one other person are in it. :/
