I finished the twincesty Heyer mystery, and -
I won't spoil the people on my friendslist who have indicated they will attempt to read it (although I will say, good idea! I encourage all of you to read it! British manor house mysteries are awesome; Georgette Heyer is a master of the comedy of manners; and these are delightful period pieces, a bit more Peter Wimsey than Jeeves & Wooster but with elements of both. And Now Is The Time To Buy Heyer, because a complete matched set of all her historicals and all her mysteries has just been put out by Arrow, in nice trade paperback form with gorgeous period advertising art for covers. Here's Penhallow).
I will say that I'm experiencing an impulse to write fanfic for the twincest. The butch lesbian will be fine, the Gay Or Very Metro brother will be awesome and have plenty to pay off his gambling debts; I'm not dissatisfied about them. But for all her awesomeness, Heyer never really gets beyond the kissing, and that's het. And not incesty at allthe wrestling, however.... So I'm just saying. Fanfic would not go amiss.
