  • Why does "laundromat" (or "laundry mat", in the pit of illiteracy that is MCR plebefic) bear the brunt of fandom's random gratuitous capitalisation? Why are there lots of Laundromats, but not lots of Schools, Libraries, Cafés, Buses, Parks, or Venues?

  • I hated the instrumental parts of the Spiderman 3 soundtrack. Yuck. But in the credits? New Snow Patrol and The Killers! Wow, talk about a step up - wasn't the theme from the first film that horrifying guy from Nickelback? (He is definitely On Notice.)

  • It's my better half's birthday. She is officially older than Gerard old 31! Isn't she cute?

I believe Laundromat was actually (once) a chain brand name - much like McDonalds, Jiffy Lube, or Krispy Kreme, and is therefore capitalized. Of course, I also think the chain is defunct, and has become a household word for a place where you wash things, and should be lowercase. But I think people are thinking about the brand.

I really doubt these people are thinking of that, though! In this fandom are are people who can't use commas and periods correctly - mainly teenagers, too! I think I'm too young to remember a time when it was a store name, so they certainly would be. But perhaps it's due to MSWord's autocorrect, then.

Thanks! Brother Windows took us out for lunch, but we haven't done anything really special yet.
