Ohhhhhhhhhhhh, Pirates.

I don't feel up to writing anything that would require a spoiler cut anyway, so just allow me to declare how VERY VERY MUCH I adore Tom Hollander. So much that I had to draw a little air heart every time he came onscreen, pretty much, as wax will attest.

We saw a total of six people in pirate outfits, which I think is pretty great considering this wasn't even the premiere showing. I feel sort of sad that I wasn't dressed up, but I didn't own the components of a good pirate costume, and anyway, it was too cold. But I do kind of want to dress up as one of the Goth Brides of Chow Yun Fat now.

I'm writing fic! akjsdhakjsdh I have, like, 1,000 words of fic on a Word screen in front of me and I'm sort of staring because this is the most I've written in one sitting that wasn't for a deadline in months. I'm going back again (thank god for afternoon matinees) to take notes.

When Elizabeth came up in her Fancy Chinese Pirate Coat, I nearly cried out, "I waaaaaant it." There was two kids sitting to my left and I think they thought I was insane because I was more "gasp-flailing-hands-over-mouth" than they were, and I was over a decade older than them. Kids these days.

God, yes, the costumes on these movies have been divine, but this one has definitely outdone the others. I suspect it was written deliberately to a visual wishlist, or that the brainstorming for the plot came after the concept art, or something of that nature.

I actually had some vague ideas after the second movie, too - I've always been a hardcore Jack/Will/Elizabeth shipper, but never quite had the stamina to write my own! The ot3 section of the fandom as it stands is small, but not so completely devoid of fiction that I have felt driven to supply the lack myself, though. I was so pleased after the second movie, because it felt even more ot3 than the first (among many other things), but I'm still a little awed by the third one, and unable to decide how it affects my ot3 vision. Not that I haven't had a couple of infantile ideas, though.

I certainly thought so, but I was willing and expected to be enchanted! And I loved the second one, unlike many people.
