computer candy
12 Jun 2002 07:50 pmmy best friend--who is, as goes without saying, da man--came over to install pirated windows xp, word xp, and a whole suite of norton goodies on my poor little computer. when we ran the norton windows-fixer, it detected almost 800 errors right off the bat.
"cim," said this exemplary person, "your computer is a piece of shit."
"to be fair," i replied, "i think the escape key and the tab key not working are my own fault..."
so THEN we started word, and? the downloaded fonts i've been saving for-fucking-ever actually worked. i now have new fonts! my joy is. unimaginable. yes. i squealed and embraced her sideways over the arms of the futon and desk chair. she patted my arm, though her arm was trapped, in a very "yes, dear" sort of way.
did i mention that
i have fonts? well... i do.
kwirbx, i'm going to be making images with them soon, and then i'm going to want to monopolize your attention for a bit of coding (angelic smile).
in the meanwhile i update from my family's saurian computer with its dusty old win98, because we have yet to download a new modem driver to transfer and so my computer can't find its modem (my computer and i have a deeply unhealthy relationship as evinced by how much i adore it despite its utter undeservingness and constant betrayal. would you believe i just find this new lack charming? i envision it fumbling around in the darkness on the nighttable, "i knew it was here somewhere...").
