Let's talk about icons.
8 Oct 2007 01:20 pmThis is one of my oldest icons. The keyword is "tea", and I sort of use it on posts when I'm feeling that sense of zen and calm you get sometimes from enjoying the perfect cup of tea. I found the source image by Google-imaging "tea" years ago; it was originally the logo or packaging of some brand of tea.

A classic feminist tshirt from the Northern Sun catalog's stock online. They sell politically liberal tshirts and bumperstickers and buttons and have been a mainstay of entertainment in my parents' house my entire childhood. I more often use it about typos and failing at grammar than about misogyny, though.
An image I scanned from the instruction booklet that comes with Ikea furniture that you have to assemble. It doesn't contain any words at all, just helpful diagrams, and I really appreciate how the little cartoon man's thought bubble of ":( ?" turns into this satisfied smile when he calls Ikea up.
This is the cover image from one of She Wants Revenge's singles. This is their album cover:
so you can see that the single is just the back side of the main image. I like the image of the knife a lot, though. Sometimes it's a nice way to express rage. Also, they're one of my favourite bands of the ones I've discovered in the past few years. Their whole band is one gigantic and hilarious joke and a lot of Joy Division parodies, basically. Contrary to their sound, the dudes look like Simon & Garfunkel. This is Frank Iero of My Chemical Romance in a tiara, which is probably why I identify with it. We're both princesses! I think my keywords are "angst" and "emo". He's a sad princess. In a tshirt. And he's really cute.

Date: 8 Oct 2007 05:43 pm (UTC)Bwah. I love hoarding icons for myself almost as much as I love looking at other people's userpic pages. But it makes me more than slightly anxious that I keep deleting/uploading/reuploading icons. The world is so full of awesome things that I can't possibly have icons of all of them. :P
:D there you go!
