There are big features on it in Total Film and Empire this month. I couldn't read more than a quarter of either one because of my vision pinking out with rage.

We're talking one of the most pivotal science fiction novels of my childhood, and no, Empire, it isn't a "teen" novel, just because like so many others it's been inexplicably re-released under a teen imprint. If you've got a brilliant novel with a brilliant premise and you're like hey, let's make a movie about that, here's an idea: why not borrow more from the book than 1) the protagonist's name, 2) his girlfriend's name, and 3) the fact that he can teleport? In terms of plot the movie's going to have about as much in common with the novel as my SGA fanfic about teleportation.

A black sticky-note of hate is going on my mental Doug Liman file.

This is only somewhat related, but they shot scenes for Jumper just a few blocks from where I live.

I've been avoiding everything about the movie since I read the first blurb. This is mostly to avoid having rage blackouts.

I thought the movie was actually adapted not from Jumper itself but from the more recent "Jumper: Griffin's Story" instead? Hmm, I am confused now. *wanders to check*

No. It's from Steven Gould's novel. At least they've admitted that much in the stories.
