cimorene: cartoony drawing of a woman's head in profile giving dubious side-eye (fun)

We went to town and bought things in the January sales: a winter coat, a skirt and two bras apiece (my bras: super cute, funky printed jersey with lace and ribbon trim. Wax's: large, practical, fugly, and twice as expensive. Poor Wax and her 32F pornstar-sized chest). My skirt came from the little girls' department, of course. Wax also got a new pair of faded black skinny jeans, which was only fair because I already have a pair of those. Pictures of the coats (hers is like the famous Mikeyway coat!) and the bras (to illustrate how hard her life is & explicate her lingerie envy, at her behest) and the jeans (accessorized with my shoes and belt because I'm hip like that) are within behind

Wax wears her new Mikeyway coat and then she strikes a pose (or kind of cracks up) after I tell her to make like a funky diva.

I got a Twiggy coat, after some initial hesitation because blue is the colour on the colour wheel I'm not supposed to wear. I make exceptions for navy, but powder blue is generally awful, as is cobalt. "It's kind of purple," said Wax. "It's ultramarine," I corrected, and she rolled her eyes. It does make me look a bit sallow, but I can live with that.

A tiny Cim bra in maroon jersey with cream lace and corsety ribbons and another in forest green jersey with tiny cream polka dots and lace trim. And in contrast, a big-cups-tiny-ribs 32F Wax bra in ballet pink. (She's not so into the style. Even less into the colour.)

Wax's new purple wool skirt & my new green cord skirt.

Finally, Wax modelling her new skinny jeans with my pink Chucks:

I really like your coat. I wish it wasn't so cold here so I could wear cute coats like that, instead of these Arctic-grade fugly ones.

You live more inland, huh? At similar latitudes it's not that much colder in North America than in Finland, but coastal towns have an advantage.

Very successful purchases all around!

Also: a personal comment that I hate myself and hope will not be taken the wrong way, but oh god how much weight has Wax lost! I am amazed and jealous.

I'm not sure if I've mentioned this before, but I highly recommed Bravissimo.com for bigger bras. Fast delivery and everything I've always bought fits perfectly. I'm actually getting my latest order from the mail today :) Not the cheapest place but lots of sizes and styles and the sales are very good :)
