Katie Leung is both hot and stylish in these new pictures from the Empire Awards (and has a history of consistently funky and cool event choices). I love her classy black gauze dress, and I love it with the of-the-moment metallic jazz flats - reminds me of Diablo Cody's unexpected and applause-worthy gold croc ballet flats at the Oscars (with a rather longer and more daring gauze dress, but then, this event isn't that formal and Katie's not that old). Here she is again with Emma Watson (chic and sophisticated as always) and Evanna Lynch (in black tights and towering yellow patent platform peep toes that are cute as a button on her as usual).

Evanna Lynch, I agree, is adorable. Those shoes might be adorable too, but I'd like to see her wear them with a different dress and sans opaque tights.

Also, Katie Leung's black dress: want!

Mmmm, well. I mean, I personally wouldn't wear opaque tights with peep toes, probably, but I'm both ten years older than her and an ordinary person, you know? Whereas she's an actress respresenting one of the most famous franchises in the world and she's on the red carpet. If that's not where you should mimic the leading edge of catwalk fashion trends, where is?

I support Evanna (and Katie, at other events) in their choices to go trend-spotting in opaque tights and open-toed shoes. Apparently it's spread down to high street brands and normal people in some places, though I still would give it a failing grade if I saw someone out wearing it on the street, though.

I don't like Evanna's dress by itself, really, but I like the way she's put it together: it looks both hot and cute on her, and it's of a piece with her style, which is always a little off-beat. I don't know if she consciously evokes Luna in her fashion choices or if it's she's been cast eerily correctly (I think I read something to that effect when she was first cast, actually).

She always tries for wacky. I bet they look like that because she's been wearing them for a while and her feet have squished down into the bottoms - it happens if your heels aren't tight enough. It happened to me last time I went to a wedding, unfortunately. (Then again, dancing barefoot is always better.)

I knooooow. And, no offense to Emma, but what I really want to read is an Evanna/Katie/Bonnie sandwich. (I don't care which one is in the middle.)
