12 Apr 2008 03:46 pmWax really likes Avenged Sevenfold, and I completely see why, but really loud/harsh/banging music - basically any hardcore at all, anything with screaming, and anything with a really fast-loud-repetitive beat - sandpapers my nerves straight away and makes me unable to concentrate on anything else, and makes me want to clutch my head and scream. In actuality what usually happens is that I have to go hide from it after a while. It's kind of like having a horrible light-and-sound-sensitive headache, the same sense of miserable, panicked huntedness, without the actual pain part.
So I was just thinking - I bet if someone remixed Avenged Sevenfold, and removed the bass line and the offensive beat, and mixed the voice to stand out less and changed the instrumentation around, I might quite like it. "You mean if they changed everything?" says Wax, but of course if the melody and the vocal track are the same it's not quite everything. Remixes change that much all the time! It'd be like a cover!
