I cut up a shirt that didn't fit right and made a natty closely fitted white waistcoat-looking vest out of it, with diagonal black pinstripes. As if that weren't awesome enough, I had the idea of lining it with this ancient vintage black and white duvet cover that's getting a bit worn - black with big bouquets of white roses printed on it. That's right, baby, I have my own rose vest. It's prettier than Ryan Ross's, too, if I do say so myself. I bet if he saw it he'd want one.

So this vest is 100% reversible, and it would be agony if I had to pick which side was awesomer. I'm infatuated. I don't even grudge all the sewing, pinning, ironing, and hand-sewing-fucking-buttonholes time. ♥♥♥

I finally gave in to the certainty, though, that my brown silk brocade vest is never going to be modified to fit me, because the fuckers constructed it with two panels and a really round boob seam in each half of the front, and besides being way too big for me in other dimensions, those boob seams make little bubble shapes. There'd be no way to flatten them out, even if I ripped the thing apart at every single seam, because the pieces wouldn't match up when they were laid flat. I have to hope it can fit Wax, or else give it away.
