Yellow curtains
28 Jun 2008 01:58 pmWax needs it to be PITCH-DARK in the bedroom during the day sometimes because she works the night shift, and we've had these heavy navy blue curtains for a long time. The only problem is that we both dislike blue. A few days ago I finally sewed up some nice 2m lengths of fabric from Ikea (each one cost about 9 euros, which is good) and put a nice pair of yellow ones over them. The whole room is transformed - it looks like the curtains are there on purpose - it's light and cheerful!

There's the overflow bookcase housing the paperbacks, authors K - Z. My Saberhagen and Zelazny collections are drastically unfinished - more like Un-Begun, in fact; I only have my Dad's second copies and one copy of Lord of Light that I bought myself). Actually, my Connie Willis and Patricia C. Wrede collections are in the same state. So my point is, this section will eventually take up more than five shelves. But maybe not for years. I'm working on Diana Wynne Jones and Georgette Heyer right now.

Two of four Moomin prints - Tove Jansson's original art. Click for more detail. Albeit slightly blurry detail...

The other two prints and the full-length mirror, with me in it for scale. Click for more detail.
