Vacation is more work than work. According to Wax. We've had one of those weeks with Expeditions every day with no days off in between to recover, until now. We're going to jealously guard our weekend before we take Lily to the vet Monday.

Yesterday involved babysitting Carmela and Ciara, and that was a lot of work. Especially because Carmela is four. And she talks constantly. And she never entertains herself. And she doesn't get tired of running around even though it's hot and sunny. It's "Cim, come and wade through waist-high weeds to pluck flowers and wild strawberries with me" and "I don't dare walk over there barefoot! Carry me!" and "Now draw another princess and a prince and a trampoline, and a palace, and a friendly dragon, and a nice queen and king, and write what they're doing there. And then write that the prince and the princess went for a walk in the forest to pick flowers and the queen said... ."

it doesn't stop when they're five or seven, either.

heh! I'm reading lj while watching a show on alternative medicine so my first thought was "oh! a therapeutic touch practitioner."

Clearly she's realigning his chakras with the help of her healing chinese doll.

Actually she was kind of hitting her on the head with the doll - a few seconds later the shrieking began and Aunt Tove had to intervene.

hahahah carmela sounds like taylor, only cooler! taylor seems to love me, though i can't figure out why because i've intentionally avoided giving her a reason to, and she follows me around and goes through my sketch book and asks annoying questions about everything and tells me things i don't want to know. the first time i saw her this trip, she showed me the notebook her mom had bought her to write bible verses in. afl;ksdjfkl;aj i hid behind cherrie's house with my ipod on so i could draw in peace yesterday.

I doubt they're much more alike than your average small children are - following people around and asking questions goes with the territory. Carmela is very sensitive and a bit shy with strange adults. She follows around the people who show the most friendliness and interest to her. She asks me to draw a lot because I originally sat her down and invited her to draw with me.
