is that an official ikea pic? because that table's all pushed up against the wall so you can't use those two chairs there.

AHAHAHHA. No... it's our kitchen - I've posted pictures of it before. The chairs are being kept out of the way while the table is being used primarily as a work area for painting and sewing.

lol, i do the same thing. i'm all for having a small space, though, i just need furniture that's adaptable. oh, dude, someone left a chair outside our landlord's shed yesterday. it's an ice-blue plush armchair that swivels. we put it in our living room. it's great for video games, especially paired with the free giant ottoman we got free off of craigslist. /furniture geekery

One never seems to find side-of-the-road furniture in Finland... although people tend to leave it out in our garbage shed and the lobby of our building.

Really? Because, um... they only cost 17e which is about... a third the cheapest price for wall decals I've ever seen anywhere else. The Blik ones that I really want are more like 60e, while the cheapest competitor I've seen charges 40 or 50e for a really small set that would cover much less space.

no, you're right - they were about 15 or so, and yes, it is cheaper than I've seen online mostly. But I was spending a lot of money at the time and I thought that for the place I was considering putting them (the side of a wardrobe, not the wall) I could also paint something or do my own designs in sticker paper. It's not that they're very expensive per se; just for me at that time (and considering the designs). :)

Oh, right. And decorative painting on furniture is more secure and won't leave a sticky residue. Also more permanent, of course, but that can be quite a good thing. They do have a remarkably small selection, but you see, we aren't allowed to paint in this location, and have several bare painted cement walls, which means we can't put screws and nails in them (without getting a Very Special Screwdriver, that is!). That kitchen wall space was problematic because of being the centrepiece of the room besides being impossible to hang things on OR stick things to (its location means moisture comes in from the windows and from the cooking and makes any tape put on it unstick inside a few days, or a week at most!). We'd already decided wall decals were the only practical answer, and were lucky to find this set at Ikea that went so well with the room.

curiosity! which are your blik most wanted? (I splurged a while back on the threadless fake panda (http://www.whatisblik.com/Merchant2/merchant.mvc?Screen=PROD&Store_Code=B&Product_Code=TH-116), which I have yet to put up anywhere - I think I'm starting to see where it belongs though).

Heh! My most wanted are also Threadless designs - the 5 o'clock (the branches and leaves), 99 luftballoons, the mary poppins-dandelion one... off the top of my head, that is. I don't have all that much wall space, though, so I couldn't buy them now! We only have two uncommitted wallspaces left in the house, really.

*nods* the kitchen is very nice! I like what you did.

I covet the pirate infested waters - and the branches and leaves one is ace, I had not noticed it before.

hee, yes, i supercovet the tee more than the sticker - but like the panda, i think it is a case of 'i'll take what i can get'. though the panda on a door will be magnificent i think, once i find the right placement and surroundings.<3

Yeah, I dig the panda shirt too. Who knows? They may reprint both of them. Some day. :(
