I've been transcribing my grandparents' typewritten family tree and -

MY FOURTH GREAT UNCLE (my g.-g.-great grandparent's brother) WAS NAMED ELVIN KING.

Also, one of my direct ancestors was named BENJAMIN FRANKLIN NODULSKI. Nice.

Ahahahaha. "Elvin King" is my new favorite ancestor. And I thought my family was the only one who did things like that!

The Hardees have a number of vile male names that somehow got to be traditional. Names like Erastus. And Parrot. And Person. (No I am not making this up.) Which leads to beautiful things, like the g-g-g uncle named Parrot Erastus Hardee. My grandfather is Walter Person Hardee. Thank GOD my grandmother saw reason and ended it - none of her 4 sons got any of those awful monikers.

PARROT. \o/ Actually, out of all of those, though, "Person" is the most wtf-inducing. My ancestors seem to have had mostly quite normal first names, except for a few branches with female names such as "Labirth".
