Wow. I just got back from Mamma Mia - we've been putting off because we kind of wanted to see it but suspected a chick flick. (Also I totally forgot that it was the Abba musical.) I hurt myself laughing, I think. I haven't seen a movie that funny in the theatre since Kiss Kiss Bang Bang with Robert Downey Jr, which was more than two years ago. The whole audience agreed with me, by the way. There was applause at the end. And who knew Amanda Seyfried, Pierce Brosnan, Meryl Streep and Christine Baranski (♥one of my favourite comedians since her role as Maryann on Cybill) had such great singing voices? Anyway, a definite recommendation - great and unexpectedly hilarious! ALSO: Stellan Starsgård (I drew airhearts at the screen) is such a big Swedish teddybear. ALSO ALSO: Colin Firth is still the thinking woman's Brad Pitt, with an appeal spanning... quite a few decades. There's still an audible sigh when he appears onscreen in a theatre full of women.

YES.
I got my mom the ABBA Gold CD the other day, I can't wait for her to open it.
