urine smell update: stairs have been washed with bleach! yesssss! am contemplating a kiss for the (rather young and good-looking) janitor when next we meet.
greek update: prof still cool, nouns and adjectives still suck.
crush update: no appearance in dream, no sign of lessening of imminent obsession.
fuck.
clothing update: got a run in my one pair of pantyhose. growl.
oh, and startled! boy update: today he was startled! and tousled! and dressed in a grungy sweatshirt with stubble, yet for some reason this made him less appealing. *shrug*

Date: 22 Feb 2002 01:52 pm (UTC)heee! That's like... every day of class for me ever (except its Spanish).
(I've studied Spanish for over 8 years, working my ASS off, and I still find the language impossible. Really easy to communicate in, SO fucking hard to master. ::cries::)

Date: 22 Feb 2002 02:25 pm (UTC)in greek the word "the" has 24 forms, and so do most nouns and adjectives: a nominitive, genitive, accusative and dative in both singular and plural, frequently in three genders. and verbs have extra "moods" and stuff, and it's like they've never heard of regulars.
i mean, you can almost always make a direct translation with spanish. there are so few forms of nouns and adjectives. and the verbs... the verbs aren't that bad. in spanish 3 we used to do these games on the marker board for anywhere from 10 to 30 minutes every day where the teacher would call out verbs in spanish or phrases or sentences in english, and we'd either conjugate the whole thing (- the "y'all" form, desfortunadamente) or translate. in two teams, running to the board and racing. we got very scarily competitive. it was wonderfully fun. and good and useful and stuff.
