Turku Cathedral & Us

Today we bought computer bits and then we stopped at the cathedral on the way back and did the touristy thing. I've never gone inside it before, despite living like a few blocks away from it for the past three years.

Cathedral seen from Lönnrot Square over the river

swirling autumn leaves on cloudy grey sky

Cathedral front right

Wax on the cathedral stairs

Detail of stones next to the main doors

Entryway ceiling

Ironwork

Altar

Another angle on the pulpit with its nice twining staircase

Tomb of a 17th century Swedish military dude

A really old tombstone embedded in the floor

Another tomb of a military dude with a thistle-decorated sarcophagus.
It kinda looks like he's watching you from the corner of his eye.

Wax the curious

Wax the morose

The same chapel with the big white square tomb.

Wax is wonderkilling.

The international sign language for immaculate conception

the sanctuary

Unretouched autumn.

Cim pauses to put on her scarf.

That is the satisfied grin of a person carrying approximately €100 worth of shiny new computer bits on her person.

River water at the base of the cathedral bridge

Cim's sneaks

Wax's pigeon-toed sneaks
