Which reality show franchise is the true opiate of the masses?

[Poll #1297133]

We have both in Finland. I haven't watched the local versions because they're in Finnish, and Finnish tv and movies aren't subbed in Swedish even though English ones are subbed in both (go fig). I quite like Swedish Idol, though. I suppose it's easier to pass the time watching bad singing, especially edited into short clips, than to wait for the more delayed payoff of the top model contestants demonstrating their idiocy ("I didn't know what bureaucracy was!"/"Of course I understand that nuclear weapons have harmful effects, but I just don't know what I think about them").

I didn't realise until yesterday that there had been a trans woman on America's Next Top Model, though. As I said to [livejournal.com profile] hollsh, it's sad when America's Next Top Model is more politically liberal than half of California. Possibly that's because ANTM reflects Tyra Banks' views and secondarily the fashion industry more than the mindset of middle America, no matter how common-denominator it is in viewership. It was unsurprising but still grossly painful to see the prejudice directed towards her from some of the other girls, but shockingly that wasn't the biggest source of drama or even the biggest source of prejudice...

Isis is/was a fierce bitch! I wish she wasn't eliminated as early as she was. Also, Elena was a fierce bitch too!

I can't choose! They are both equally embarrassing and addicting! I've never watched the Finnish Top Model show though, just America's, Australia's and Britain's. /o\

My drugs too! Australia's is both better and much lower-quality I think... the cheapness really got to me after a while. And there seemed to be much more endless interviews about in-house drama, where I prefer to watch challenges all the time. That one actually PRODUCES working models though,. which is kind of special. First season of Britain's was my favourite though.
