Besides Wax's homophobic grandmother, folded-space housing, an all-water world, and artificially-grown living sailing ships (bioengineered by people, but ship-sized, water-ready, and having skin and bones and organs and all those things) made an appearance in my dreams. The living ships had to be large, and there were little moulded plastic pedal boats and motorboats used for short hops among them and into structures, which just rose out of the water. My sidekicks and I hopped a motorboat to a pedal boat operated by a tour guide in order to check the information engraved on a memorial sculpture made of stone and rising straight from the water in the town square. There were also pine trees rising straight from the water, which, I think, is less believable.
