I want this library. *___________* Picture puzzle linked by [livejournal.com profile] mecurtin.

In the spirit of rainbows, have this photo of Death Valley after rain which I think was taken by my Crunchy Aunt, but it might've been my Wonder-Killing Grandpa Bob (as opposed to my Libertarian Grandpa, Ray). (I managed to write like ten thousand words of Bob/Ray before I realised that they shared my grandpas' names that one time. Probably because I address them as "Grandpa Bob" vs "Grandpa [Lastname]" in person, when not simply "Grandpa"). It could also be a random e-mail forward from Gpa Bob, though. He does that with Curious Facts and Nature Stuff. Anyway, it's nice to look at something that's not dark, cold and snowy.

Please note that I would never actually organise a library by colour. I might subdivide into genre before alphabetising, like my parents do. At the present time we don't have enough books (*sob*) to genrify.

I genuinely want that library. And now I really, really want to rearrange my bookshelves and do it properly by color, not in the vague blocks of color they are now. But then I'd have to also hide all the ones with multi-colored spines, starting with the Pratchetts--seriously, who is responsible for those and can I strangle them?

What you want is to step back, squint and decide which colour dominates each one. If you can't find one at all, you can stick them somewhere else. But usually with a squint you can get an overall impression! Plus, once you put it with other ones of that colour it will help it to blend in. The eye is easily fooled.
