Does Sudafed expire after the use-by date?

I'm pretty sure I've taken expired Sudafed before by accident. I don't remember anything unpleasant happening, but I also can't remember if it was effective.

That's what I'm thinking: Does it NOT WORK? Or is that just because my head is SO AMAZINGLY CONGESTED, or something.

It doesn't expire instantly, but some few months after the sell-by it prob. starts 2 weaken.

Do you have a scientific basis for this or just guessing?

I know that manufacturers make sure that products are extremely likely to still be fully functional on the sell by date. If they didn't do this people would get angry a lot more frequently than they do. Because products degrade more or less gradually, if they're still fully functional on the sell by date they are still mostly functional for some time after that. The "few months" part is a guess, but I think it's a reasonable one.

If it's not months out of date, it should be fine. :)

This is your mom, not DNN. Don't you remember when Cherrie took expired Benadryl and had a life-threatening allergic reaction a few years ago? At the emergency room they told her that they had no idea whatg chemicals she4 had eingested, because they had changed after it expired. NEVER take expired medicatiuon, was the take-away lesson!
