Maybe it's a play on that "enemy of my enemy is my friend" thing. You could possibly dislike them for the same reasons they like reach other, and then it wouldn't be that weird.

I guess it depends on if they actually like each other or just pretend to because they obviously aren't likeable enough themselves so they have to find other desperate people somewhere. In that case than it's less irrating because you can just laugh at their stupidity.

If they actually do like each other it's more irriating because they obviously have some common interest that they probably find to be 'The Greatest Thing Since Pickles on Toast' but which you hate because, really, who likes pickles on toast?

Yeah, I think I might have lost my metaphor somewhere there. Mostly it's probably just funny. Not worth getting irritated over anyway.
