So, I was going to write a mini-primer with a title something like, "How To Read Dean/Castiel for People Who Aren't Up on SPN Canon and Don't Want to Be, or: I Read a Really Long Ship Manifesto So You Don't Have To". Yeah, but then I got distracted and I haven't written it yet. I still want to, not because I think it's a service that the world really needs so much as because it should be kind of funny. But for now, you can just have this link.
rosaparksofblog, the lj feed of The Rosa Parks of Blogs, a blog whose entire purpose is to collect silly constructions of the form "The X of Y". This was linked yesterday on
languagelog and I fell in love. Observe:

But Wax and her bud used to have marathons and watch together every few weeks, so I am fairly well half-versed in canon up to the last season the way one is when one's spouse enjoys something publically. I didn't actually put on headphones or leave the room or whatever. It probably helped a bit with the ship manifesto, which is sort of written as if the manifesto for people who're already fans of the show had sex with the manifesto for kindergarteners who have no concept of interpretation of motivations AND haven't ever seen tv at all.
