Crazy in a satellite collar

We had to put this satellite collar on the Crazy yesterday, and she didn't like it. She's still moping, and she kept me up all night head-butting and poking me in the face, purring violently, and walking on my belly and chest with her tiny, pointy little paws, demanding to be cuddled, then yowling and wriggling away when I tried to hug her.

I don't know why you're using the collar, but it makes cats completely miserable; it interferes with their sense of where different parts of their bodies are. In Jenny's case, the collar was so big she couldn't eat. If it's for stitches or something on her body that she's not supposed to lick, have you considered getting a very small baby t-shirt or dog sweater to put on her instead? We did that with Jenny -- got a blue chihuahua sweater, cotton -- and rolled up the sleeves, and she was much happier even though she had an incision with stitches on her back. It kept her from licking or scratching the stitches, it didn't get in her way, and she could move and feel her body properly.

It's a rash on her ass. Can't cover that! The Crazy will just have to roll with this until her ass is ass-coloured again.

Thanks for the advice. However, I wouldn't describe the Crazy as "completely miserable" so much as "a bit more anxious than otherwise". Don't worry, it hasn't interfered with her busy lifestyle of sleeping in a giant princess nest of blankets all day.

It does look like it's more her size than the one that was on Jenny. Jenny was a fairly small kitten and they used a full-sized collar; she couldn't even eat, it was heavy and it made her exhausted.

Oh, poor kitty. The last picture seems to have caught her mood excellently. My cat hasn't had to wear a satellite collar as yet in his life, but we may need to put one on the dog at some point for all his gnawing on himself lately (poor thing has a skin condition that makes him itch every few months; if it's located in just one place, we can spray it, even if he also hates that and will go hide in other rooms when he sees the spray bottle come out).
