For people who actually have to be both upright and moving a lot of the day, shoes made for running are more comfortable than, for example, Converse (which have great traction but not-so-springy insoles) and the like. (Although, for my money, a firm and well-sculpted footbed is the best if you're upright but mostly standing as opposed to running: Birkenstocks almost completely take the pain away in that case, I'd say. Maybe I'll post some later, since it's summertime.)

Anyway, proper running shoes are usually my least favourite type of sneaks because they remind me of middle school, when everyone was supposed to have this type as some sort of weird social ritual. (It's not like we were running around the school. Or even the gym.) If you actually like to run I have no doubt that you don't need me to tell you about them, either. But, you know, every now and then they're cute. I actually own a pair nowadays, and I still hate to run though given to bubbly fits of excitement that involve skipping and bouncing.

The only pair of sneakers I own are Brooke's Ariel (designed for heavy people who pronate,) and I wear them only to exercise.
