cimoreneSautee 1 minced bell pepper on high heat with 1 T whole cumin seeds in a tablespoon of olive oil until pieces begin to blacken on the edges
Add 3 minced tomatoes, juice of 2-2½ limes, abt ½t salt, 1T chili powder, 1t garlic &/or onion powder, 1t oregano (fresh or dried), 2T cilantro (fresh or dry) if you have it. Add water if dry (I needed a few tablespoons' worth).
From my viewpoint, this still needs a few tablespoons of salt, but most people don't like it that way. If you're not garlic-shy, probably 1-2 fresh cloves would be ideal for most people, 3-4 if you like a lot. If you like fresh onion, probably ½ a medium white onion minced would be right for this amount of salsa.
And I really, really hope Wax decides she wants to go to town today because I want to get out of the house. -_-
