That new Doctor is really unattractive, though.

Her sweater is SO RED. It's so red it's bouncing off the screen. It's so red it's almost the only thing I can see. I sincerely hope they do some post-production colour correction on that.

It doesn't look particularly different from Star Trek red to me. Perhaps you have a monitor settings issue.

she looks really good! But the rejuvenation of the franchise is really very much in mah face with these caps, in a way that kind of makes me wince and feel discriminated against. (I feel old! Why does everything have to be about twentysomethings! *shakes cane*)

oh, I didn't mean to complain that you'd posted them or that I saw them! I'm sorry if I made you think I was annoyed at you, that wasn't the case. I'm not referring to anything you did, I was just commenting on the state of the Dr Who franchise because it seemed an appropriate comment to make.

IDK if DrWho deserves to be lumped in the same boat with, say, the Stargate franchise.

1. The main fanbase of Doctor Who isn't older than the actors. In fact, it's a children's show.

2. The doctors haven't gotten progressively younger over time as a pattern. Rather they've varied back and forth, even though the last three have gone successively younger: I don't think it's certain that that is the cause of this pattern.

3. Probably because it's a children's show, the companions have mostly been teenaged or youth-aged as access characters for the audience.

Personally I'm more upset about race on Doctor Who. I'd love to see a doctor who wasn't COMPLETELY ANGLO MILKY PALE WHITE. That's the casting, but in the past the writing has been very much at fault as well obvs. I'm looking forward to forming a new judgment about the new direction now.
