is an actual term in common usage, meaning the same as repertoire. If the sign says "repertoire" and they say "repertory", though, I guess that's kind of a problem.

I'm from CA and we always said repertory - I'm not sure I've ever seen it spelled repertoire in the states.

It was by far the more familiar spelling to me for all the years I was growing up. I didn't encounter the -y version until later.

That is the situation I'm most familiar with from my childhood of music lessons! I encountered the -y spelling too in other sorts of contexts.
