I like to imagine that first one is a Star Trek fic. Jim's convinced he can talk to ghosts, and everyone's gotten sick of humoring him.

I am in love with the effect "Or is [he/she/it]?" can have, when added to a summary. I imagine it with the Thus Spake Zarathustra Dunh duuuuuuunhhhhh! chords.

I mean, one wants to around adding it to all of one's declarative sentences. “I'm going out for coffee. OR AM I?”

It adds a little something extra when it's (apparently) the wrong gender, too.

Yeah, I don't really know what to do with that bit of the summary, mentally.
