Somehow, the first time I read the subject line I saw "book-slave" and wondered how that worked.

I can't see Holmes doing the dishes, unless we're talking about rinsing out beakers and test tubes, or removing encyclopedias/newspapers/bits of evidence from one's teacup/butterdish/etc. Which raises the interesting possibility that it's Dark!Watson who was cleaning up when he took a break for a spot of dubcon...
