well, my theory is that they add the extra "t" because they're morons, but i did just have the thought that maybe they think it gives emphasis. like sexy is sexy, so sexxy is REALLY sexy, so then smutt would be REALLY smutty, sort of like how in japanese tottemo is more emphatic than totemo for saying "very," and anmari is more emphatic than amari.

but i doubt it. i mean, that would be giving them too much credit.
