i get an email asking if it's okay to rec a story. i'm confused. does anyone ever say no to this? i mean-- 'no! no one should read my stories. grrr.' i said yes quite politely and suggested that she stop asking, because, yo. not that i particularly mind being asked, but she did have to wait a few days...

I don't know. There was that argument a few weeks (um, days? I don't remember) ago about how some people thought it was impolite to rec a story without giving feedback first. I usually write to ask someone if they don't mind me giving feedback. Maybe she had been burned in the past, and maybe she's just being polite.
