Wednesday we finally managed to get rid of our old kitchen table, which has been a long-term goal of mine!
We had to get it out of the way before there would be room for an island-height table, my ultimate goal because even though our kitchen is bigger than our bedroom, it only has about two standard sheets of printer paper's worth of counter space, one on either side of the stove.
But now I really need to get around to buying the 90cm legs to attach to my intended replacement tabletop. Right now the table's former spot is mostly full of folded clean laundry and the vacuum, which has been vagrant for a year or more since the closet which was its former home became too full to hold it.
We also only have one hard chair in the flat (although we do have three armchairs and two sofas), so I also need to get a couple of folding ones in case of emergency drop-ins.
Currently they can't sit on the spare sofa, because the Crazy pees on it when she's feeling poorly, and she had a serious hypoglycemic episode a couple of weeks ago that wreaked havoc on everything in the sofa's vicinity as well as all the area rugs in the flat. She doesn't seem to feel under the weather anymore but she hasn't completely stopped being hypoglycemic, so all the cushions are still off and Wax has spread plastic sheets on the frame to foil her.
