pavlovian canadian conditioning?

i've been conditioned to perk up at mentions of canada. 'fraser!' i go, and lick my lips. today on the unairconditioned third floor of the geological survey library--the international section--i found myself going, 'published in 1969--something or other lead deposits and their measurement by some esoteric method. sure, fraser would have read that. or at least he'd know what it's talking about.' it's pavlovian. i wandered through the australian section in such a daze that i was thinking, 'what's canada doing both before and after brazil?' (it was in english, you see. clever, tricky little thing.)
