*facepalming* The intarwebz is a mighty fount of all knowledge; I will bet you $100 that typing "how do you spell bodhisattva?" into Google will result in half a dozen dictionaries with the answer, and it will take no more time than typing "(sp?)" into your header took...

To be fair to this person, the message was sent to an email mailing list probably in the 90s, so depending on their age, they might've been using Outlook or something and not even known they could do a websearch at the same time... (or using Windows 95 and running a search simultaneously would've been literally impossible because it would've caused the OS to freeze).
