Diamine Sepia on Tomoe River paper with a Kaweco Sport EF. Water and paintbrush also used.

Sepia is close in appearance to exactly the sort of variegated amber-brown effect I was looking for, something that reminds me of maple and pecan desserts. It has nice shading at the individual word level, but the ink just isn’t juicy enough for my taste. It isn’t exactly dry to the point of no flow, but it feels rather like writing with water. There’s no lubrication of the pen, which makes a suboptimal feedback feel as I’m writing. On the plus side, a parsimonious ink like this in a Sport EF nib can achieve quite a fine line.
