infinite discontent

The guy was here looking at the geothermal pump to hopefully rectify our lack of hot water when I got home today, but his report was that unfortunately it had been completely immersed in water and was too dead for him, and to call a company in Turku.
Apparently according to MIL 'completely immersed in water' was much worse than we had previously believed was the case about it, and I'm not sure why, given that it stands on the floor in the side of the basement where the water was calf-high. I was not part of the 'we' who got the memo that it probably hadn't been immersed in water; I thought it quite likely had because of how water was everywhere over there.
But whatever, that makes the third person who's been called about it, but he has to talk to the guy who was already here and possibly order parts so we still have no hot water. We took showers yesterday at MIL's flat that she sold ages ago, but now it's completely empty so the keys will be turned over and we will be dependent on the wood-fired sauna at her summer cottage until the device is fixed and on her BFF's washing machine until a floor and some washing machine hookups are installed either on our side of the house or in the basement garage that was under water Sunday and is currently being dried out by big industrial fans.
Amusingly, I've been going to this government-funded career counseling assessment thingy the past two days, which is (a) official, (b) early in the morning, (c) composed entirely of new places and strangers, and (d) involving somebody evaluating me; but because there are no unpleasant/incompetent people involved, the typical levels of anxiety for a-d are so low I can't even feel them and being there is in fact more relaxing than coming home to our current camping abode, where I can't find any of my shit and can't be sure someone isn't going to waltz in without warning and start to piss me off at any moment.
I also have a tremendous sleep debt right now.
