I'm just... so... tired.
When will we have hot water again! WHEN!
Evidently not before the next time I have to go to Turku for evaluations and meetings in the morning (Monday - Wednesday)!
Tonight: going after 10 pm to light the wood-fired sauna and wait for it to heat up. Will we be home by midnight? WHO KNOWS?

Date: 23 Aug 2019 04:50 am (UTC)We did bucket showers with the kettle - fill up a big ass bucket with cold water and pour in about 2-3 kettle's worth of boiling water and you get reasonably tepid water that is pleasant to cup-pour over yourself.
Can you get a night or two to stay at relatives or friends or even an airbnb to be somewhere with working plumbing and finished floors and QUIET for just a moment? I would go to the nearby mall and just sit there and pretend that I was going home to a finished house. That everything was unpacked and the walls were not scaffolding and there were not live wires I had to keep a small child away from.
I hope the bunnies and the cats are blissfully ignoring everything.

I have tried a bucket-sponge-bath with just one kettle's worth so far, but I was kind of in a hurry then. Perhaps a bigger bucket and a couple more would get rid of the problem that the air is too cold and the water isn't really hot enough to make up for that. (Although right now the shower drain isn't working either and we have to wait for someone to come look at the drains next week too!! At least we didn't have an actual working shower anyway for it to drain. I found out because I tried to wash a garbage can.)
