outstanding bills!

There WERE outstanding bills, rather, and now there aren't. My parents got the last check from my maternal grandfather's estate (even though he died several years ago, because he owned multiple random small properties) and they sent most of it to me and my sister. She paid down their debt so their monthly payment is now 200 less. And I paid the remainder of the 11k plumber's bill that surprised us so much before, which means... like... our three FIVE HUNDRED EURO TOILETS are all paid for now, lol. And yes, maybe the cheapest toilet is only a hundred and fifty cheaper than this or something, but I'm still never gonna be over that.
Yeah, about 1/10th of the times that I walk in the bathroom and my eyes land on the toilet I think "That's a five hundred euro toilet!"
Anyway, the plumber and electrician are paid, which means we can now conceivably ask them to do more work, although probably not right at the moment, but in the near future I guess? So maybe at least our washing machine can be hooked up... someday... soon???? Ish???????
PLEASE???????

Date: 29 Mar 2020 01:36 pm (UTC)Of course we can't know exactly what will happen with financing the rest of fixing the house, and the bank, and all that, and we can't know that until the summer cottage has sold, and obviously that is not likely to happen under the current pandemic, so there is still a lot of stuff to wait and see about, but less anxiety is fine.

That's probably the real reason. The cheaper ones are all from French and Spanish companies, for some incomprehensible reason (and I assume they're all manufactured somewhere with cheap labor because Really, so is France just a source of cheap bathroom DESIGN? and if so that's hilarious).
