It's petty and mundane but every couple of days I have a renewed wave of loathing for this ridiculously tiny kitchen and how impossible it is to use for anything. Once you've done two things - even if those things weren't both food preparation sometimes - in a row without completely emptying and refilling the dishwasher in between, there's no counter space which means there's not enough counter space to clear the counters or do the dishes without putting a bunch of stuff on the floor, because there's NO WORKSPACE AT ALL. I hate it I hate it I hate it I hate it.

Our own kitchen is over there with workspace in it, albeit without water or electricity and without the stove and fridge and freezer.

One of our apple trees (not the one that made a metric ton of apples though) is actually quite tasty, but now we have brought apples inside every day for a while and they keep bringing fruit flies with them. The fruit flies are maddening enough without Wax hating the fruit flies even more than I do, so I can hear her cursing at them and repeated thumping every now and then as she tries to swat them. Periodically a full-sized fly sneaks in through a cracked window or temporarily open door, and she hates those even more. Not that I want them inside, but they're probably raising her blood pressure.
